Info Elddis Bye Bye Explorer

Dear All

Thank you for your continued interest and support. I’d like to give you an update on changes at Explorer Group and our plans for the future.

We held our 2010 Retailer Preview last week, attended by our growing retailer network, plus the full complement of our friends from the press, The Caravan Club and Camping & Caravanning Club. It was our best-attended and probably most successful launch to date – and a major step for us as we were to unveil our plans for the relaunch and evolution of Elddis.

Elddis has always been the strongest brand held by The Explorer Group. A heritage stretching back to 1964, together with a strong and widespread retailer network has established Elddis as a product of choice for many loyal customers.

Following our evaluation of the caravan and motorhome market and how we believe that it will develop over the coming years, we have reached the conclusion that our customers, both trade and retail would be better served if we were to concentrate our efforts upon a single primary range of standard products. This means that with effect from the 2010 season, our Compass range of touring caravans and motorhomes will not be produced as a standard product range.

The successful Xplore range will become the Elddis Xplore from 2010. Buccaneer remains our highest level luxury tourer and a stand-alone sister brand to Elddis.

Reaction to the relaunch of Elddis and our plans for its growth has been overwhelmingly supportive. Our retailer network has gone from strength to strength, with most Compass retailers now representing Elddis. We’re now delighted to have Campbells and Lowdham Leisureworld on-board and playing a big part in Elddis’ ongoing success. More retailers have decided to join us, having been bowled over by the 2010 range.

You’ll be able to see the full range – including 6 new layouts, one hotly-tipped exclusive new layout and over 10 redesigned layouts – at all Elddis retailers from September. Our all new website www.elddis.co.uk launches mid-August, which I hope you’ll find far more user-friendly and interactive!

I hope to see many of you at the Lawns and NEC shows … come and meet the team, have a coffee and let us know what you think of our latest products.

Whilst these changes herald the end of an era, these are exciting times for all of us and we are looking forward to a bright future for Elddis and our customers.

Rachel
