Thank
you for the wonderful birthday party |
||
I would like to say a huge thank you to Jim and Jane Getty for the wonderful rally they hosted at Hayfield Lakes at the beginning of February. As some of you may know it was my 50th birthday and Jim and Jane were 'badgered' into running a rally and agreed to host it at the same time as my birthday. They picked a super venue with beautiful views and we were made extremely welcome, as were all the other ralliers, including our 'newbies'. I was able to celebrate with a lot friends, old and new, with good food and plenty of drink!! I would also like to thank Bert and Pauline Sanderson, who gave Jim and Jane lots of assistance throughout the whole weekend. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to all my fellow ralliers and Elddis club friends who sent cards, presents and even a birthday cake, it was a lovely surprise. Congratulations to Jim and Jane for a wonderful first rally and I hope that this will be the first of many. Bravo!! |

I would like to express my sincere thanks for all the concern, phone calls and cards when Wilf was first taken ill in August last year and for everyone's continued concern until his death in February. Also, many thanks for all the telephone calls and cards following his death. We enjoyed our caravanning and I have a lot of happy memories and good friends. Love and best wishes to you all. |

Get Well Messages |
||
May I thank the many friends in Elddis for their kindness and Get
Well Messages, I have received during my illness. I am, I hope, on
the way
to a slow recovery. I hope to be on the road again soon and out touring
once more. Paul keeps asking me "When are we going in the Elddis
dad?" All I can say to him is SOON I hope. Again to everyone, THANK YOU. |

Many thanks to all our very good friends at the Club for all the cards, phone calls and good wishes we received following Arthur's treatment and stay in Hospital. Progress is steady but very much slower than expected and we hope to be back in circulation before too long. Kind Regards. |

| A Cake Tale | ||
At the Biggleswade Easter rally, June Pool donated a fruit cake which she had baked as a prize in a “Guess the weight “competition, the proceeds going to Club funds. After two days of suggestions for future uses for the cake, including “Segment it and use as wheel chocks”, “An ideal anchor for a boat,” (The latter was rejected as being cruel to fish.) “Possible stepping stone for a river crossing,” I was lucky enough to win the cake. Having sampled the said cake, I wish it to go on record that the cake was absolutely delicious, note the past tense as there is not a crumb left. June, you can bake me a cake anytime! |

Bernard and Sheila Wilson would like to thank everyone on the Ancrum, Jedburgh rally run by Tom Stobbs for their kind help and concern over Bernard’s accident when he was knocked off his bike and ended up in hospital. We would particularly like to thank Alf Halliday and family also thanks go to the farmer who moved our van onto the C.L site in order that Sheila could remain. Bernard is now out of hospital and has a special neck/head frame to aid his recovery. Hope
to see you all again soon. |
